“Evangelize, Educate and Edify” are action verbs that characterize the mission of Haiti Christian Mission of Kentucky (“HCMKY”). Our purpose is to win the hearts and minds of the people of Haiti through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Through evangelism, healthcare, agriculture and education, we set out to build up a healthy and self-sustaining society.
Since the year 1986, Haiti has suffered three major natural disasters and one deadly viral epidemic. Overall, the four disasters took the lives of over 500,000 people across the island. To this day, Haiti has yet to recover. Many Haitians continue to live in tents and navigate through fallen buildings and homes. Haitians lack the resources to survive and rebuild.
The Haiti equivalent to America’s “In God We Trust” is “Union Fait la Force,” meaning in unity there is strength. Our goal is to create a better and united Haiti and give Haitians a sense of independence by teaching individuals how to farm, read, and provide clean facilitates for healthcare.
